Every marketer now has access to unlimited copy and images. That means copy and images are worth approximately nothing on their own. The advantage moved to iteration speed against real feedback, and to the judgement that decides what to keep.
The creative testing loop
The old constraint was production cost: each concept took a designer, a copywriter and a week, so you tested four ideas a quarter and defended them politically. Now you generate forty concepts in a morning. Everything changes downstream:
- Write the strategy, not the ad. Four angles — pain, aspiration, social proof, objection-handling — before any generation happens.
- Generate ten executions per angle. Vary the hook, not the offer. Keep everything else constant so results mean something.
- Cut on judgement before spending. Kill anything off-brand or legally risky. A model cannot tell you what will embarrass your company.
- Test in structured batches. One variable at a time, enough budget for signal, a fixed decision date.
- Scale the winner, then vary only the winner. Most accounts fail here by restarting from scratch each month.
Where AI earns its keep, channel by channel
Paid
Creative volume, headline permutations, and audience research — feed real reviews and support tickets into a model and ask what language customers use about the problem. That language beats anything you write. AdCreative for scored variants, and the platform-native tools inside Google Ads and Meta.
Organic social
Repurposing is the highest-return use. One long video becomes twenty clips via Opus Clip, each with a distinct hook. One article becomes a thread, a carousel and a newsletter section. Schedule through Buffer, Metricool or Publer.
SEO and content
Search rewards genuine expertise and first-hand experience — mass-generated pages lost that fight. Use AI for briefs, structure, internal-link mapping and gap analysis; keep the actual insight human. Surfer for on-page, Ahrefs for research, and Search Console as your source of truth.
Segment-specific variants at scale, subject line testing, and lifecycle flows that respond to actual behaviour. Klaviyo for commerce, beehiiv for media.
If your AI marketing output sounds like everyone else\’s AI marketing output, you have automated your way to invisibility. Feed the machine your specifics — your customers\’ words, your data, your point of view.
The automation layer
Wire it together so it runs without you. A workable pipeline in n8n or Make: new content published → generate five channel-specific variants → queue for approval in Slack → schedule on approval → pull performance after seven days → write the weekly summary with what to do more of. That is a Level 2 delegated workflow in the sense described in adaptive AI programs, and it takes an afternoon to build.
Three things to keep human
- Brand voice decisions. Define it once, in writing, with examples of what you would never say.
- Anything about a real person or a sensitive claim. Legal and reputational risk lives here.
- The final call on what ships. Approval is not bureaucracy at this volume; it is the only quality control left.
